    This beauty was designed by renowned architect Arup Datta in the Art Deco style. The entire building was centrally air-conditioned – a unique concept in Chennai at the time. The entrance through the basement was through awell appointed, spacious 1500sq ft foyer.

    The design was a tribute to the Adyar bungalows of yore. It was one of the first residential buildings in Chennai to use a pressure-booster for water supply.

    This beauty by Arup Datta, was designed to conform to the stringent American Building Standards for commercial buildings, featuring extensively thought-through fire escapes that included higher ceiling for the parking fire engines, and well placed watersumps.-30,000sqft

    This was one of the first residential buildings in Chennai to have apartments that sprawled across 4000 sq ft. Built in a style harking back to the Indo Saracenic style of architecture by the inimitable Canadian architect, Arup Datta with all cornice work on the facade done manually.

  • Milestone

    Alwarpet

    With a façade that can be truly understood only when viewed, this milestone was designed with cross-ventilation as its aim. It was among the first buildings to provide for piped gas. All this with a common area adding up to only 10% of the carpet area.

  • Coconut Grove

    This was the very first gated community in Chennai featuring 47 Row houses/villas. Coconut Grove also incorporated a hydro-pneumatic system that ensured equal water pressure in all its homes. Fixed furniture and imported kitchens from Spain was the icing on the cake.

    This compact commercial complex was designed as CavinKare's corporate office in Chennai. ‘Simple is Beautiful’ says this one. As per the client's requirements, every aspect of the building was designed to make maintenance and access to amenities easy.-34,000sqft

    While apartment complexes of the time had monotonous painted exteriors, Vishranti was the first to use the eye-catching-stone-and-exposed-brick cladding on Ramkripa, making it a one-of-a-kind building in Chennai then. Ramkripa also introduced the concept of raising the garden to the level of the first floor to keep the parking spaces hidden from view.

    When Perungudi was a neighbourhood that made people go ‘Where??” this commercial building built for GMR Group was designed to ensure that there was enough infrastructure to cater to all the occupants of the building.
